4 month well visit!

Clint went for his 4 month well visit at the doctors office on May 7. He weighed in at 13.2 pounds and 25 inches long!! He is growing like a weed!! He got three shots that day, and was such a big boy. He didn't cry near as much as he did last time.. Jonathan and I were so proud of him! After the doctors appointment, we went to Red Lobster, and Clint finally tuckered out on us.. he was wore out!! It was a great day! I love being able to see on paper his progress, even though I don't want him to grow up.. I know that he is healthy and strong! He is such a wiggle worm these days! He found his feet about a week and a half ago, and he tries his best to put them in his mouth! It is so funny!!

Getting his temperature checked!!

Being a big boy after his 3 shots!!

The sunglasses Daddy bought him for being so brave!!
Jonathan and I decided to start Clint on the "Sleep learning" program once he was four months. We started it the night of the 4 month well visit. (They recommend that 4 months is the earliest they can start on it). It is where you put them to bed when they are awake. but drowsy instead of laying them down asleep.. to help them to "learn" to fall asleep on their own. The doctor told us that if we were going to do it.. then we needed to go all the way and do it without a paci. Because we would be constantly going back into his room putting it back in his mouth. The first night was the HARDEST!! The book that I read said that the average on the first night for the child falls asleep is 1 hour. You can go in there after 5 min of crying and talk to them to try and calm them down, but don't touch them because they will think that you are going to pick them up. Then you do it every 10 min, then every 15 min until they fall asleep. Clint finally fell asleep at the 50 minute mark. It was so hard to hear him cry, and not be able to pick him up and rock him to sleep. But, it paid off!! Every night since the first night, when we lay him down he usually goes to sleep in about 10 minute with no crying ( if he does cry now it is only for a min), and he sleeps anywhere from 11 to 12 hours, in his own bed in his room!! (if anyone is interested the book is called "The Sleep Easy Solution, The exhausted parents guide to getting your child to sleep from birth to age 5" from Sleepy Planet. We have one of those video monitors, and that is AWESOME, so we can see him at night from our bed room. ( I can even see his chest moving up and down as he is breathing.. this is a MUST HAVE for any new parent!) I am so glad that we decided to start doing this earlier rather that later... and without the paci too. We give him the paci during the day if he needs it, but lately he hasn't been using it that often. He is such an angel; Jonathan and I are so blessed!
